Bourevestnik Research and Production Enterprise, a subsidiary of ALROSA, supplied and commissioned 27 luminescent separators at the new processing plant of the famous Cullinan deposit in South Africa. This deposit is 74% owned by Petra Diamonds Limited and is known as a source of extremely rare blue diamonds, as well as large gem-quality diamonds, including type II diamonds, which are characterized by low nitrogen content and account for no more than 1-2% of those mined in the world.

The decision to use separators manufactured by Bourevestnik was made by Petra Diamonds as a result of comparison of modern technologies for enrichment of diamond-bearing ore, as well as taking into account the unique characteristics of the Cullinan deposit ore. Bourevestnik equipment confirmed high efficiency of recovery of all types of diamonds, including weakly luminescent type II diamonds characterized by a low level of luminescence under X-ray radiation.
