The unique diamond at the Udachnaya pipe was mined using the equipment of the Bourevestnik Research Center.
The discovery of a unique diamond weighing over 190 carats at the Udachnaya kimberlite pipe became possible thanks to the use of separators manufactured by Bourevestnik, JSC.
ALROSA announced the extraction of a rare diamond measuring 40x31x20 mm and weighing 191.46 carats at Processing Plant No. 12 of the Udachny Mining and Processing Division in mid-January 2019. Since the beginning of the pipe development in 1967, separator equipment of our production has been successfully operated at this deposit. As of today, more than 90 IC Bourevestnik separators are used at the plant for all stages of enrichment of diamond-containing materials: from head enrichment of initial ore to final finishing of concentrates.
This unique diamond was extracted thanks to the use of X-ray fluorescent separators LS-20-05-2H for primary enrichment and LS-50-05 for concentrate finishing.
The facts of extraction of particularly large diamonds by ALROSA confirm the high quality of the equipment manufactured by IC Bourevestnik and give confidence in its further successful application for the discovery of new unique diamonds.
