In January 2026, using X-ray luminescence enrichment technology by Bourevestnik JSC, Petra Diamonds recovered a unique 41.82-carat blue gem-quality diamond at the Cullinan Diamond Mine.

This recent discovery has once again confirmed the high efficiency of X-ray luminescence sorters manufactured by Bourevestnik JSC in the reliable recovery of various Types of diamonds.

This discovery confirms that the Cullinan deposit continues to be a unique global source of rare blue gemstones, and that the plant's equipment allows for the recovery of the entire spectrum of diamonds.

Currently, the Cullinan plant uses a set of X-ray luminescence sorters from Bourevestnik JSC, which allows for the treatment of -75 +8 mm ore without the use of DMS.

The Type II diamond was found thanks to the work of the LS-20-05NL primary treatment sorter and the LS-OD-50-04-03 final concentrate treatment sorter.
